TRAVEL ROUTE
15 days includes Beijing, Urumqi, Kashgar, Turpan, Dunhuang, Jiayuguan, Zhangye, Badan Jaren desert , Alashan youqi, Wuwei,Lanzhou, Beijing

Day 01: Arrive Beijing
Arrive at Beijing, Welcome reception and transfer to hotel, rest of the day is on your own

Day 02: Beijing-Urumchi-Kashgar
Take morning flight to Urumchi, after arrival having lunch in local Uyghur restaurant, visit to Xinjiang Museum where 4000 years old mummies are exhibited, drive back to airport to take evening flight to Kashgar.

Day 03: Kashgar
Full day visit to Apak khoja Mausoleum, Sunday Market and its livestock section, old towns and small lanes of Kashgar, Eidkah Mosque and its surrounding handcraft street. Overnight in Kashgar.

Day 04: Kashgar
Day trip to Karakul lake (200kms one way) along the Karakoram Highway which is 3600 meters above the sea level, if weather permits, then we have a chance to see peak of Mt. Kongur (7649m) and Mt. Muztagh Ata (7546m), wandering around lake side to have a quick understanding of local Kyrgyz family and their daily life, drive back to Kashgar for overnight.

Day 05: Kashgar-Urumchi-Turpan
Breakfast at hotel, take morning flight to Urumchi, lunch around International Grand Bazaar, then drive to Turpan along the express highway and visit to Jiaohe Ancient City which was listed under UNESCO, overnight in Turpan.

Day 06: Turpan-Dunhuang by train
Visit to Emin Minaret, Karez underground irrigation system, Astana Graveyard, Gaochang Ancient City, Tuyuq village, take soft sleeper night train to Dunhuang.

Day 07: Dunhuang
Arrive Liuyuan station in the early morning, transfer to Dunhuang. Morning at leisure, afternoon visit to Mogao Caves (World Heritage Site) and Mingsha Sand Dunes to have a camel ride to Crescent MoonLake.

Day 08: Dunhuang-Jiayuguan
Drive across the Gobi Desert to Jiayuguan, after arrival visit to Jiayuguan Fort which is the largest and most intact pass of the Great Wall of China, visit to Wei and jin Art Gallery, overnight in Jiayuguan.

Day 09: Jiayuguan to Zhangye
Drive to Zhangye, further drive to south to Yugur autonomous region to visit horse hoof temple (Ma Ti Temple), GiantBuddhaTemple, overnight in Zhangye.

Day 10: Zhangye to Badan Jaren desert
Drive to Alashan youqi which is our starting point of Badan Jaren Desert in inner Mongolia, change the tour coach to 4x4 car and further drive to Badan Jaren Lamaism Temple on the desert. Enroute drive across the Nuo¡¯er tu lake which was named fairyland on the desert, Dinner with local Mongol people, Overnight in simple guest house.

Day 11: Badan Jaren desert to Alashan youqi
Keep driving on the desert with endless stops for photos around the BadanJilinLake then drive back from the desert to Alashan Youqi, overnight in Alxa youqi..

Day 12: Alashan youqi to Wuwei
Change 4x4 vehicle to tour coach and drive to Wuwei, afternoon visit ConfuciusTemple which was built in 1439, visit Leitai tomb of Han dynasty where the symbol of China tourism-bronze galloping horse was found. Overnight in Wuwei.

Day 13: Wuwei to Lanzhou
Drive to Lanzhou along the Qilian mountain range, afternoon visit to GansuProvincialMuseum, early evening wandering around the bank of the Yellow River.

Day 14: Lanzhou to Beijing
Drive to Liujiaxia reservoir to take a boat to Bing ling ThousandBuddhaTemple which is a series of natural caves in a canyon along the Yellow River, drive back to Lanzhou, take evening flight to Beijing.

Day 15: Beijing depart
Take morning flight to depart


This itinerary commences/concludes in Beijing, but neither a day tour in Beijing¡¯s top sights as visit to Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Heavenly Palace, Bird Nest Complex nor a day tour to Great Wall is included, clients can do this independently or we can arrange hotel, guide and transportation according to clients preference.
